AIR DRILL- when you do your drill with no flags/weapons AIR-FLAGGING
IT - when you do your routine minus the flags or other props, just the movement, an imaginary flag/rifle/sabre, whatever.
Usually done at practices BAG- anything that is horrible.. scores, performance, etc. BAND GEEK- one who lives in the
band room, is obsessed w/ band, and is crazy BIZZARO- weird part in the show BOLT- metal in the top of a crutch tip
that weights the flag BOOB TWIRLER-someone who dose drop spins up high at their chest BOOM SHOCK!- clean up your mess!
BRAIN FART- 1.)Any mistake made by a member of the guard 2.) When an idea suddenly pops into your head BRAIN SUCKING-
when a guard member does not know the works and she watches others to do the work BUM-GRABBERS - Members of the band or
colorguard who go around grabbing peoples' bums. BUS MACKING- the extreme flirting that goes on riding home after a great
competition. BUTT- the rubber at the bottom of the pole BUZZ KILL- when you expect a great guard show, and it turns
out they suck CAR WASH- when flag work is totally not together and it looks like you can drive your car through it CATTLE
GUARD- derogatory term for the guard from the drumline CG's - Short for colorguard CHICKEN WALK- jazz runs CLAM-A
MISTAKE- someone who is making alot of mistakes is said to be eating clam chowder. COLOR-G - Short for Color-Guard COME
NAKED- Don't come in uniform COMING To JESUS- a meeting in which the instructor deals out the tough love and lets a struggling
guard know what it is going to take to become a quality guard. CONCUSSION-the percusssion COP-A-SQUAT- forone to squat
down and take a knee during practice CORN BREAD- another derogatory remark from the "oh so kewl" drummers CORN COB-
someone who walks like they march, even when football season is over CORNDOG- when the flag gets stuck over the end of
the pole. AKA a sail COTTON CANDY-when someone gets their flag stuck on their pole (sail) cows- ppl who make loud
thumps against the floor while jazz running CRACK-HEAD- term used for the instructor making you bend like gumby CRUTCH
TIP - the ends of a flag pole DELORES - Usually the nickname given to anyone who cheats on her boyfriend or goes out with
a lot of guys staying in relatively short relationships. In colorguard, it is any girl who goes out with all the male guard
members or almost all of the male band members DIAG- diangnil; it's mostly used during marching season DIANGULAR -
diagonal DIVA - a person who can utilize ANY piece of equipment and use their body as well to make it look like an effortless
thing DOUBLE TIME- spins where you do down flat, up flat... DO IT UP-To do well, kick ass DOUGHGIRL- name given
to one who is gasping for air after warm up or stretching DRILL- 1.)Usually the routine 2.)Also could be a warm up
3.)Or a set in a song. DRILL DOWN- When all the guard members line up...Close their eyes...And run through the routines...If
someone messes up...The instructor/captain/whoever...calls their name...and they sit down...Who ever is left gets
to sit and watch the rest of the drill down until no one is left. DROP SPINS- the fundamentals to work, up and
down spins DUCKS- people who walk funny DUMMERS- term used about the drummers DUM-DUMS-- same as dummers DOWN
SYNDROME- when you sit down for a long time and can't get back up ELVIRA- the one guard senior that always yells at you,
takes your boyfriend, makes your life hell and you can't wait for them to graduate.. FALL VETRANS- people who have done
fall guard and know what they're doing FAKE IT- to look like you know the work, while trying to remember drill at the
same time FISH- when a saber wobbles in the air FLAG FEATURE- intense, unison flag work together.. no solos FLAGLINGS
- New recruits to the colorguard (otherwise known as "newbies") FLAGGOT- nickname for the guard, a member of the band
who wants to secretly join guard, and can do the work better than us. FLASH FLOOD- what happens when a weapon can't hold
back, and the entire work gets watered down. FLEAAG (Pronounced_ Flea-ag) - Makes it sound like the word flag is a foriegn
word FREAKY-DEEKY -when you make a mistake FREAKING REE REE- the new girl who can't quite ever get the work-EVER FROSH-
freshmen FUNDIES- fundamentals FUTZ-ASS- name for the annoying band director, who try to do things to fast, or just
do dumb stuff. GHETTO- everything that goes bad 1)something wrong happens 2)something doesn't goes your way 3)a part of
your show or some other guard's that looks stupid GOING SHOPPING - When a guard member, while jazz-running, swings their
arms back and forth as if they were swinging shopping bags around. GUARD GEEK- like a band geek, but obsessed w/ guard
GUARDO- guard member HAGS- instructor term for guard members HAND CHECK- used on band busses to embarass that
couple making out in the seat in front of you (response to this is to raise both hands somewhere where everyone can see them)
HELICOPTER-parallel toss HOLOCAUST- when the equiptment work falls apart to the point that it isnt recognisable HUNKAHOLIC-
The type of guy that any member of the guard should not go out with KANGAROO- a person who bounces, or jumps while jazz
running LACKADAISICAL- unfocused, zoned out 'LANGLE - to remind each other to keep your heads up! (at an 'L' angle
if you put your fingers in an 'L' shape and hold it up to your chin) LET'S DO IT ONE MO' GIN- another good run through
LIL DRUMMER BOY- the "pimp" snare player who tries to get with every person in guard... even the new ones on the first
day LOLLIGAGGING-guard members (or band) that justs isn't giving their full 100% during practice....talking or not rolling
feet...etc... MARIONETTE- the drum major who is a puppet for the band while the drummers and guard really keep the band
together MEATHEAD- someone who thinks they are thebest and they really aren't MOXY- what all guard chics possess-
that natural feminine kickbuttness MRS. SPOCK- the guard member who is no fun, won't participiate in activities, goes to
bed early on trips, and never talks OFF THE LINE- the begining of the show OLD PEOPLE/UPPER-CLASS - Terms given to
the member of the colorguard who have been in the colorguard the longest. NERD- the rubber stopper on either end of the
pole PACIFIER- something like a wood block that the insane instructor uses to keep in time PARK AND BLOW- the part
in the show where you just stand there and spin, no marching PEE-ON- the annoying kid from the band that always gets picked
on, and the guard being as nice as we are.. always invites him to hang with us. PEGGY SPINS- double time spins except
you grab over and under instead of flat POLP- a really bad fall PRINCESS-the girl in the guard who always has to get
her way RAAAAIIIIGHT- (pronounced "raw-it")- yeah, ok, i believe you RETARDED HAND- When the hand is inverted RIFLE
SQUAT- to sit down and lean on the butt of the rifle RIP- a stolen guard score RIPPLE- when something isn't together
but is suppose to be ROCK THE FLOOR- perform ROCKET SCRENTIST- someone who takes forever to learn something and then
when they actually pick up on it, this is what we call them ROOKIES- people new to the guard experience SAIL- When
the silk of the flag wraps itself around the pole no longer exposing it SHA GOINK- what happens when the instructors
aren't around SHAVE THE DOUGHNUT- part of the cone exercise when you go from back present to having the flag in front
of you SHUT ER DOWN- to end practice SILK- the flag SKEEVIN-when you say something gross SMOKIN'- outstanding
SNACKUM- one who eats all the time SPANK- used any time you beat a rival guard by a large amount or perform very well,
sort of a "oh yeah, how you like that" term SPACEBURGER- when your hands are positioned to look as if you are holding
a "spaceburger" while jazz running/walking, marching, etc SPACETTE- the girl who leaves a huge hole between them and the
next person and never fixes it SPEED SPINS-Double time (down, parallel, up, parallel) SPIDER NEST-a place up at the
ceiling that we project to STIR THE SOUP- like a crazy 8 (front 45, back 45, cross over, shoulder hip) STOPPER- The
rubber end of a pole...holds the bolt in place. TAKING A WALK IN THE MALL- any guard member that is not rolling feet...looking
like their walking in the mall... TRAINWRECK- when the guard as a whole screws up, causing the entire visual and GE scores
to go down URINATION VACATION- when someone goes to pee and never reterns VETRANS- have marched both fall and winter
and know what they're doing WALDO- the person who wanders off and nobody can find him WET MOUTH- any drooling band
members who want to join guard and they stay after to watch you practice WHALE- when a rifle wobbles in the air WINTER
VETRANS- people who have done winter guard and know what they're doing WONDER GIRL- the new guard girl who totally blows
you away. can toss a 6,. and gets captain her first year
